Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. You are responsible for accurate account information, keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@helios-co.org if you believe your account has been compromised.

What Helios provides

Helios provides organizational, discovery, and communication software for pet parents, independent sitters, and pet-care businesses. Features may include profiles, pet information, discovery, connection requests, booking coordination, messages, visit updates, media, and shared Owner Hubs.

Helios is not a veterinary provider, emergency service, employer, staffing agency, insurer, background-check service, or guarantor of any user or care arrangement.

Independent care relationships

Pet sitters and pet-care businesses using Helios are independent providers. Users are responsible for evaluating one another and agreeing on services, prices, property access, keys, safety practices, insurance, permits, taxes, cancellations, and payment for pet-care services. Helios does not currently process payments between pet parents and care providers or take responsibility for their agreements.

Subscriptions, trials, and renewals

Helios Community is free. Helios Pro is offered at the price and billing period displayed when you select a plan. A standard 14-day trial may be offered without a payment card, and eligible founding or promotional members may receive a longer trial such as 30 days. No-card trials do not create an automatic charge. If you later add a payment method and authorize paid access, the selected subscription renews automatically each month or year until canceled.

You can cancel through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Trial, cancellation, and refund details are explained in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Digital products

Downloadable templates, trackers, forms, and other digital products are licensed for your own personal or internal business use. You may customize them for that use, but may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, publish, or make the original files available to others unless we give written permission.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse Helios; access another person’s account or private care space without permission; submit false, unlawful, abusive, or harmful content; infringe rights; harass or discriminate against others; spam, scrape, or disrupt the service; bypass security; or use Helios for fraud, unsafe care, animal abuse, or illegal activity. Our Community Guidelines are part of these terms.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Helios a limited, worldwide license to host, process, display, reproduce, and transmit that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. You must have permission to share pet, owner, property, photo, video, and care information. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

Availability and changes

Helios may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We work to keep the service reliable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Beta, founding, and preview features may change as the platform develops.

Disclaimers and limits

To the extent permitted by law, Helios is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee a user’s identity, qualifications, conduct, availability, or performance, or the safety or outcome of a care arrangement. Helios is not liable for conduct between users or for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Helios at any time. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when we reasonably believe there is a terms violation, security concern, legal requirement, or material risk to users, animals, property, or the platform. Provisions that should reasonably survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—will continue.

Governing law and updates

These terms are governed by Oregon law, without overriding consumer protections that apply where you live. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. We may update these terms as Helios evolves and will post the new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or by email.
